make Annejam jam from berry fruits grown at our small farm at lat -36.716, lon 149.394 in NSW, Australia, which ranges between the Bombala River at 740 m and 930 m above sea level (Creewah locality). Great area perched between the Snowy Mts and the sea. It can be freezing (-12C) over long winters. Enjoy finding and inadequately photographing the struggling flora to check on changes over the years and get some understanding of species associations and locations. And reckon flickr is a great way to make a local diary tied down to lat-long: add the photos as the plants flower. Escape to the warmth of Bangladesh and other bits of SE Asia occasionally and to other bits of Oz to ogle the flora.
I really like my Canon 10D (then 40D, now 5D/Mk2) using it for pretty much everything with a 90 mm 1:1 Tamron lens, no tripod or flash. On travels I have used a Canon S5IS for the past few years for convenient size and good zoom, but when it broke I replaced it with a Sony DSC-HX9V that's good but a bit slow. A year with my Olympus OMD E-M 10 and a 40-150 mm zoom has replaced everything else because of lightness and convenience..not as good by a long way as the Canon 5D, but at least I can carry it everywhere

wombalano takes many excellent photos, but runs the risk of damaging his knees from too much crouching down.
