Hi… my name is Jenny and I am currently studying for a BA (Fine Arts) with Curtin University via Open Universities Australia. Apart from being a student I have several other hats too… wife, mother, grandmother and massage therapist. However, the one thing which has been a constant throughout my life, is the overwhelming desire to create!

Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted to paint, draw and take photos. Thankfully I was born into a family of photographers, which meant I was exposed to photography and the realm of the darkroom from a young age… as for art… I was lucky enough to be encouraged there too!

However, the encouragement did not extend to making art my career! So, now I feel that I’ve been a good girl long enough… and my aim is for my artwork and photography to have a greater say in my life and to take it to a higher level… hence the study!

Actually, I did try to study once before when the children were small… but the problem was that I didn’t want to be confined to boring exercises… I just wanted to be off doing my own thing!! I was blessed at the time to have some amazing artist/photographer friends who I learn't a lot from… and was encouraged to have several exhibitions. That was a while ago now and life took over again….

So…now it’s time to seriously get back to it! I’m hoping this portfolio will reflect my journey as I move through from being a student to a fully fledged artist/photographer…
