I am a neuro-electrophysiologist. I became a great fan of the wood warblers in 2007. At the time I was very low in life and knew nothing about birds. One day my husband and I walked along the lakefront and we heard a loud bird. At first we could not locate it and we were to walk away, but the bird was so loud and the sounds felt like scolding to me. So we stopped and finally found it to be a tiny (< 5 in's) but loud and colorful thing 30 meters up a big tree. The bird woke me up and I went about to buy bird field guides, new cameras, new lenses. Now I spent all the time that I can to watch these small wonders of nature and photographing them. The yellow-rumped warbler that is on my buddy icon is the species that started my life as a bird watcher and photographer for me. I am endlessly grateful to these birds.
