# Photo project: Where do human rights begin ?
Call for entries
Human Rights Connected would like to invite you to participate in our inaugural photo project. Inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt’s quote on human rights and where they really begin, we would like you to explore and show us where you see human rights begin or where they should begin around you, in your city, in your communities.
We’re looking for photos that represent your artistic perspective on human rights. Submissions can be on a range of topics from the right to education, freedom, and security to child labor, refugees etc.
It is our hope that these photos will get us started on our mission to bridge the gap between the seemingly abstract content of international human rights treaties, conventions and declarations on one hand, and the very concrete manifestation of these rights, or absence thereof, in your day to day lives, ultimately illustrating the essential task incumbent upon civil society to drive positive change and participate in the struggle for human rights. Human Rights Connected seeks to be involved in that challenge.
The photos will eventually feature prominently on our homepage, HumanRightsConnected.org, which officially launches in June!
# Entering is easy!
Either upload your photo directly by joining our Flickr group Human Rights Connected, or e-mail your submission to info@humanrightsconnected.org. Don’t forget to indicate your name (no last name required) and country.
Important: Submissions must be original digital images in .jpg, .png, or .gif format with a file size no larger than 1 MB. You can include a caption (max. 50 words), if you choose. Each submission may not have been previously commercially published.
