Salford Pubs of the 70s
Drag to set position!
The concept here is to record every pub that served a pint in Salford at any point during the 1970s from the Queens Hotel on Ordsall Lane which closed in January 1970 through to the modern Ship on Cross Lane which didn't open until December 1979. We're hoping to present at least one quality shot - not necessarily from the 70s - of each pub and any help in filling the few gaps would be greatly appreciated. We're using Neil Richardson as our bible and the slightly eccentric order of presentation is based on Neil's final 3 part master-work. With a bit of luck, as we sweep along Regent Road, Chapel Street etc we might just capture some of the flavour and atmosphere of old Salford. The real hope, though, is to bring the pubs to life by sharing the memories of the people who drank in them; to add a bit of colour to these 300 grainy black and white images.
