Thanks for visiting.
The bonobo is a great ape, and like the chimpanzee, shares 98.7% of our dna. They are the most endangered of all the great apes and could very likely become extinct in our lifetimes. Most everyone knows about the chimpanzee, and that it is our closest relative, but very few know that the bonobo is just as much our relative.
While the chimpanzee is a beautiful animal in it's own right, it has a warlike and patriarchal social structure. They murder and steal from each other and practice infanticide. The bonobo, on the other hand, has a matriarchal social structure and solves most all of it's problems without the use of violence. Humanity should look to the bonobo for inspiration and not the chimp. The mess we find the world in today is largely the result of chimp like behavior. If we can learn to love more, fear less, and follow the example of the bonobo, maybe we have a chance at escaping our current predicament.
Here are two links to organizations doing good work to ensure the survival of both the Chimpanzee and the Bonobo. Please check them out and make a donation if you can.

If you're in the Seattle area and want collaborate please say hi. I appreciate any thoughts, ideas or comments you'd care to share.
Please, ask and wait for a response if you want to use my photos for anything.
Some sets contains GRAPHIC IMAGES. Please do NOT enter if you're upset by blood and guts and/or nudity.
Take care and, when in doubt, don't be like a Chimp, be like a Bonobo. If nothing else, remember that you're just an ape like the rest of us.
