the following is a letter to a fellow flickr member
I appreciate you even consider the possibility of being wrong and, if so, offering an apology.
Now with that said I'll answer your question. I obtain images from so many outlets including my own shots. Now concerning flickr members, when I come across a member who has a lot of nice work, I usually send them an email letting them know that I would like to do art with their photos (haven't had anyone tell me 'No!' yet. Now if a member has just a few nice pieces, well, pieces that I feel would go well with my type of art, I'll usually put a comment on one of the pieces. Sometimes I don't get time, reasons being: I might not be at my own computer or on a public computer and time is of the essence.
Because of the reason explained in the last paragraph, I also put information on my page to give credit and also give artists and photogs the oppurtinity to tell me to keep my hands off their work. I believe you know that I have a whole set devoted and dedicated to art pieces I've done that have photos that are not all my own. This means that if one of my art pieces has at least one flickr member photo then it will eventually find it's way into that set.
In my profile I also made mention of this, unfortunately I have been remodeling my profile so it has been empty for the past week, more or less.
Now, I hope that answers your question. Also I would like to add that I don't think people in or around your group understand me, and that's ok with me. But, I would like to address a few issues. for one, some people say the word photoshop like it's a bad word. photoshop is fun and I don't try to go crazy trying to make my work look like it didn't come from photoshop, and people are calling me a snake? It's not that I try to or try not to, I just do what comes to feeling of the images I have in front of me at the time.
My art is not limited to Photoshop at all. I was drawing at the age of three. By the age of nine I would sit my siblings down and do portraits of them. I've dabbled with pen and ink, color pencils, airbrush. I love to airbrush. I remember I had a few of my airbrush shirts in this small clothing store in Newark, NJ some years back. The owner walked up to me one day offering to pay me money because someone stole one of my shirts. I refused the payments and he didn't understand why I was so happy. I told him that someone risked going to jail for one of my shirts, are you kidding me, that was the greatest flattery.
My creativity is not limited to the visual arts. At a very young age I had an obscession with mixing music. I've had my music play in clubs in NJ, NY and PA. The crowd at Nevada Smith's on 3rd Street went wild over a remix I did of wyclef's staying alive, thanks DJ Johnny for playing it. Some of my musical works have even made it's way to the radio in Italy. Trying to get on American radio, but I'm still happy all the same, Thanks DJ Muddfoot.
But wait there's more. I have written a novel titled 'A Friend of The Family' which took me four years to complete. and if you think I'm full of crap on that too, here's my copyright registration number: TXu-735-136. I've written a screenplay which took me a gruelling non-stop three month work routine. I have several poems and hundreds of songs that I have written.
(I think i'll put this in my profile until I can get a proper one done up. I thank you 500 for hearing me out and as I said for now on I'll include in your group only the works that are all mine, if that's cool with you.)
Now with all this said, understand that I am not going behind anyone's back. I am a very busy person and I enjoy creating. And the main thing to think about is I have a set for the sole purpose of setting aside the works that include obtained pics. Now if I was trying to snake and be a thief, then answer me this question... why would I set up that set?
