Sheridan Smith
Drag to set position!
Born Sheridan Smith on 5th August, 1990 in Launceston, Tasmania, Sheridn has become a successful Singer, Songwriter, Performer and Recording Artist. Sheridn may be a pint sized rockstar, but don’t let the five foot fool you, she has lungs of a Viking.
Sheridn signed to Melbourne Independent Label, Barraiya Records in 2011. Since then Sheridn has been recording and released a single in February 2013. The single "You're Dreamin'" was co-written and produced by Powderfinger's Darren Middleton. Sheridn is now in LA playing shows, recording, songwriting and working with some big names in the business.
Sheridn started her musical journey at a very young age; dancing and singing on stage at 5 years old. Sheridn's dancing career peaked at age 7 and since the decline she specialises in the robot. Soon after Sheridn started piano lessons and singing lessons. It wasn't till Sheridn was 16 when she picked up a guitar that she started seriously writing songs for herself rather than the rock band she was in during high school (Until Forever).
Sheridn has starred in musicals and most notably scored the lead role of Scaramouche in We Will Rock You in 2007.
Sheridn started solo gigs in her hometown of Launceston before she made her way to the big smoke of Melbourne, Australia. Sheridn regularly does live shows around Melbourne…
The love of tunes has been passed down from her Dad, he was the one that first put a guitar in her hands and used to play her Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Black Sabboth and Pink Floyd.
“Music makes more sense to me than any other religion. The fact that you can speak to people from any walk of life, around the world, simply in terms of rhythms, beats, noises and melodies, and still communicate a mutual sense of emotion… I think that’s all you need as proof of oneness.” Russell Hobbs, the drummer of the Gorillaz.
