I learned photography and darkroom skills more than fifty years ago from my father, an award-winning photojournalist devoted to conservation, wildlife, and the outdoors. His passion for the natural world shaped my own. Over time, I have carried those early lessons into the digital era, continuing to explore the landscapes, flora, and fauna of the Southwest and the places I travel. My approach to color photography is rooted in what I learned from black-and-white film and printing: to work with light and balance until the image conveys the feeling of being there. Using digital tools, I shape the raw exposure to express its full tonal range while remaining true to the intensity of the natural world that inspires me.
