Lucky Pup Rescue is a small, non-profit, family-run rescue based in Southern Maine. We believe that all dogs deserve a safe and happy home regardless of where they are from; we work to re-home both local dogs in need and Southern dogs from our overcrowded partner shelters.

We do not have a physical shelter but bring all our dogs to safety by using a network of foster homes. We at Lucky Pup Rescue, Inc. are committed to finding the best “doggie” fit for you and your lifestyle so all have many happy years together.

Our adoption process includes the completion of an application, phone interview, veterinary and personal reference check, and home visit. The standard adoption fee is $300 for dogs, $250 for dogs 7 and older. This helps cover adoption costs, transportation to New England if applicable, vaccinations & medical and boarding costs so that we may continue to rescue other at risk dogs. If a dog is too young to have been spayed or neutered prior to transport, the state requires us to collect a $100.00 refundable deposit that we will return to you once you provide evidence from your veterinarian of spay/neuter of your pet.
