Long time quilter in love with everything modern quilting has to offer. I enjoy creating patchwork quilts and also making other items, like pillows, mug rugs, wall hangings and purses from fabric. I started free motion quilting several years ago and enjoy practicing designs on my quilted items. Last year I bought a refurbished vintage Gammill and am quilting most of my wall hangings and bed quilts on that now. I have started quilting for others and also volunteer to quilt one charity quilt per month for my local quilt guild, or Quilts of Valor.

Along with quilting, my other hobbies are alpine skiing and off road motorbike riding. I love to be outside in the summer and winter. I'm a coffee drinker and espresso lover. I have been grinding my own beans and pulling my own shots long before Starbucks was even thought of. I also brew beer and make wine. I love sewing notions, fabric scraps, chocolate and eccentric candy. I also play the clarinet, saxophone and watch Dr. Who every week via BBC satellite.

I enjoy traditional patterns with modern fabrics, paper pieced patterns, and really admire Japanese style patchwork, like that of Suzuko Koseki, or Zakka styles . I'm not really a fan of wonky pieced quilts or fusible applique, unless the edges are nicely finished.
