I am a passionate photographer ever learning more about the quality of photos I aspire to achieve.
I'm a third generation native San Diegan that enjoys getting together with like minded individuals wanting to improve their photographic skills. I enjoy shooting Wildlife, especially birds, Landscapes, and pretty much everything that looks worthy of the moment. I use Canon equipment, but will at times hang with the likes of the Nikon folks :).
I continue to be a “student”of light and capturing a special moment that inspire me to memorialize. Living in San Diego the weather is nice most of the time, however I miss the opportunity to get images only privileged folks are privy to with majestic mountains and varied wildlife.
I have walked about 1/2 (1,200 miles) half of the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail,) and thru hiked the (John Muir Trail) about 220 miles before I got involved in photography...Yes, I missed the opportunity of a lifetime.
I have a limited number of people I follow because I try to comment on each and every image they offer. I limit time on FLICKR as I have varied interests in life that giving me the diversity I desire. I think interaction and personal stories through our images is what FLICKR is all about.
And, I hope you understand that I own all the images on my photo stream. It Is unlawful to use in anyway any of my images without my written consent. All my images are copyrighted and thus protected by law!

Well here we go! Been thinking about this for a while. I followed Brian for over 3 Years now and I am nothing but amazed in his progress as a photographer! I remember when he got his first explore and was amazed by it. Now it is a regular event for him and very well deserved. His love, understanding and affection for wildlife ( especially our winged friends) is clearly visible in his work. I have no doubt his efforts help protecting those beautiful creatures which inhabit our world and so often get forgotten in our selfishness. In 2015 my wife and I went on a trip with a campervan through the American South West and I asked for advice from people I knew from the area. I remember Brian was quite ill at the time but still made time for me to help any way he could. He offered to help with the hire of the Camper and even invited us to visit him in San Diego. Unfortunately it was a long way out of our way and we just could not make it to his home.(wish we had had more time ). Brian always finds time to comment my work (and many others )which I very much appreciate. I count Brian as a friend and I hope one day we will meet in person! Brian if you ever come my way make sure you let me know! yours sincerely Norbert Trewin

First of all before I begin ....how could I be the first to be writing a testimonial for Brian !!!!????!!! As when I decided to write a testimonial about my good friend Brian, given his personality , honesty, integrity ...and his talent ...I thought there would be a least 30 a head of my dribble. Well it is an honour for me to be the first then as I am writing about a great soul and a wonderful photographer whom I talk to on the phone and laugh my ass of with . Well to begin with lets talk about the talent first, as Brian is pretty incredible....just look at his work!!!!!!! He understands light, positioning and the basic elements that make much of is work Pro . He knows that the background is as important as the subject ..and the subject has to be taken well,.... thats a given ...But interestingly enough he puts as much of his gauge nailing the background as the subject......and that is paramount to getting perfection because if you talk to the "REAL" Pros , ( and they don't go on sites like flickr) they'll tell you to get the background in your mind before you click the shutter, to know your light source, and be in a position to get rid of shadows , and to bring out a neutral wonderful Bokeh.. and always be aware of these elements ...and then you will nail a shot that is memorable and incredible in gauge. Brian's eye is 100% Pro, and there is no surprises then on what he continually produces as looking at his work I most often think to myself ..."YEP" nailed it again Brian.... as.Brian's consistency is there fore as impressive, as his persistency rate of getting the "hit" is noticeable ...and if you follow him you realize your looking at a photographer who's talent is special, and your entertaining greatness in front of your eyes as you are viewing a upcoming master, who improves continuously .... and that is pretty dam special. What is also amazing is that Brian is humble , full of compliments, and caring thoughts, that he unselfishly writes on peoples streams ...Just a kind soul who tries to make you feel like you have true worth ... and that is "kindness" and that is a mark of a true "gentleman" and a "class act" because he goes out of his way to show not only that he cares... but it is important for him to know that he has made an impact on making somebody feel great about their work....if that is not the attitude of what Professional means ..I don't know what is ....... thats beyond what you call a nice guy .....especially somebody with his natural abilities, as you would think he would be somewhat aloof ...but he is not ..he's a consistent nice guy ...and if you spend a dime call to call him you'll find out he is a hilarious fellow, full of wit, and charm, and somebody who is genuine and passionate either about shooting, or discussing camera equipment, who thirsts for info to always improve, always do better . For me it astonishes me that hell give me some serious compliments which is so appreciated ..but when you look at the photographer who is complimenting you you realize your dam lucky because a compliment from Brian means something .......as many on flickr who 'think" that have talent try to be bigger than what they are & tend to be aloof ...and Brian who produces work like this: www.flickr.com/ph... is so happy to give you a pat on the back as say good job when some of his work is absolutely over the top. I'm honoured to be your friend Brian, and thankful ...in the end you make flickr special for me and many, many, other people ...thanks for being a Pro Brian ..and somebody for me that makes me proud that you are a friend of mine .........Howard Brodsky
