I was introduced to flickr by Armonya's "On est bien peu de choses ..." What a joy to see. I'm a Buddhist. Intrigued by the mysteries of life and nature in our world. Was born in Wisconsin, USA and grew up in Chicago and Cleveland. Spent 8 years working as a magazine photographer and in commercial film production in Cleveland. When I got married in 2000, I agreed to move to Italy within 5 yrs. We began that transition in 2003 at which time I decided to re-explore my relationship with photography. To that point I had shot assignment and commercial work and was not finding much satisfaction or fulfillment. I took up digital photography here and opened my mind to exploring our world, locally as it were. This last summer I took up writing and have become consumed by understanding our human fate on our planet with regards to global warming, climate change and greenhouse gas emissions. (Just a note: in the next 14 yrs we will add 1 Billion more people to our planet, the fastest rate increase in human history.) So how we live, how we can manage to peacefully co-exist, and how we generate energy are just a few very important issues that we will all need to address in our own lives from today forward. Oh yeah! Renewable Energies, I am amazed, amazed at how forward thinking and advanced Europe is, especially Germany, Spain and Holland, when it comes to setting an example for the viability and growth potential of renewable energies and helping realize a zero-emissions society. What a difference it makes when governments are actually run with concern for the people who consent to be governed.
I am encouraged and inspired by your images and work. And I hope that it encourages many others to realize their fullest potential to live a peaceful, satisfied and fulfilling life.
Thank you for sharing a bit of yourself. I hope I can encourage you as well.
