I took my first photo in 1979 when I was 12 using a bulky looking camera that I guess took 120 film during a tour of Wembley Stadium! I'm now the wrong side of 55.
My first 'proper' camera was my Dad's Zenith E SLR, which I later 'swapped' for an autofocus Minolta 7000 SLR (I still use the 50mm Minolta kit lens, plus my Minolta Dynax 7xi).
Historically, my camera was only used during holidays or airshows, but about 10 years ago, I joined Buckingham Camera Club, which has given me more shooting opportunities! (Although, sometimes I feel I've resorted back to holidays and airshows - oh, to have the time to shoot more regularly, and to shoot a variety of subject matter!)
I'm a Sony A Mount user - in 2023, I traded in a Sony A580 DSLR for a Sony A77 Mk II SLT, obtained from MPB. My lenses are mainly Tamron, although a recent purchase has been a Minolta 28mm lens from Oxfam.
I've recently started shooting film again. A camera club buddy decided to become obsessed with medium format film photography. I thought that this would be a good opportunity to use up my rolls of expired 35mm film, I had stored in the fridge, next to the cheese. I've got through one roll, but now replaced it with 4 more! Started with 2, now have 5! Guess I'm going to be busy these next few months. As of Feb 25, I have 4 rolls of 35mm film in my fridge - at least none of them have expired yet!!
The images I post here are mainly ones I've entered into Buckingham Camera Club local competitions, so they don't tend to follow any particular pattern or theme.
