A good few years ago my beloved surprised me by giving me a camera for my birthday. In the days of film I couldn't afford the film to become any good.

Thankfully Digital came along and I can take a skip full of pics in an effort to get a few good shots and then (occasionally) tweak them after. I usually have to visit a place a few times before I can see the pictures I should have taken on my previous visit. There is no theme to the pictures I either take or post, they are just of things I think might be interesting.

With the exception of a bit of cropping or the occasional edge fogging I post pictures SOOC. Mainly because I haven't yet got a proper handle on Photoshop and the like.

In June 2012 I retired having spent a, mostly, interesting 39 years as an engineer in the steel industry in South Wales. Since then I have tried to keep a pictorial diary of the days since I walked away from steelmaking, some days I miss but that's life.

Since I 'retired' from Steelmaking in 2012 I have converted my hobby into a part time job.

I spent from 2012 to 2014 gaining the ratings to become as a Flying Instructor and currently teach from Cardiff Airport.
