Lakeside Books and Prints is an offshoot of The Lakeside Studio and Gallery in Lakeside, Michigan. Lakeside Studio was established in 1968 by John D. Wilson, who later founded the important Navy Pier show, the Chicago International Art Exposition. Lakeside Studio/Gallery was in operation until 2008, when Wilson semi-retired, and his son, Jon-e, opened his Lakeside Gallery West in Michigan City, Indiana. His daughter, Laurie, started her online store on Ebay, Lakeside Books and Prints.

Take some time to browse through this collection of Henry Wolf prints. These wood engravings are original works of art. Henry Wolf was a turn of the century artist (ok, turn of the 20th century). Many of the Henry Wolf works you find on ebay are reproductions from turn of the century magazines, Harper’s, Century, Scribners. These prints offered here are the original works, from the estate of Henry Wolf. The bulk of the estate was purchased in full in 1973 from the Achenbach Society in California. There are hundreds of these prints, signed, unsigned, some on thin Japanese tissue, some on laid paper, others on thicker vellum stock. A few are signed by the artists that he engraved them after, or of the person sitting for the portrait, offering two signatures on an original work of art. Many are proofs, one of a kind impressions that show the progress of an artist at work, with bits and pieces of one plate worked in another‘s margins. Mr. Wolf’s original scrapbook is in this collection, along with letters from other artists. There are more interesting items to come!
