I took up photography as a hobby rather late in life, having no prior experience with it's scientific demands or it's artistic capabilities. It has been a wonderful ride of experimentation and learning. The Flickr community has been a wonderful venue for learning, thanks to all of the published photos of different styles and the very helpful discussion groups.

 

My first DSLR was a Nikon D3000 (July, 2010) and it was a wonderful starting body but I quickly discovered it's limitations and have given it to my granddaughter to start her photographic journey. In November 2011, I acquired a Nikon D90 and in June 2013, I added a Nikon D7100.

 

My lens kit consists mostly of consumer grade lenses and I don't find them to be limiting in any way with respect to my personal style and quality expectations. In fact, it has been rather fun learning how to get the best performance out of each:
