I am a Czech herpetologist. My research focuses on the taxonomy, systematics, and biogeography of amphibians and reptiles of the Horn of Africa (mainly Somalia, Somaliland, Puntland, and Ethiopia). My main subjects of study are geckos of the genus Hemidactylus from Eastern Africa. I am also interested in the taxonomy of scorpions ans succulent plants. I have authored or co-authored about 30 peer-reviewed papers and 2 books. I currently run long-term projects and field studies in Somaliland.
