Up through college I was a pretty active film photographer with my own darkroom and the works. Then life happened: career, family, etc.
As the CMO for several technology companies, I had involvement with a lot of imaging and printing products. In that role, I also managed a lot of photography-dependent projects (e.g., advertising, conferences, etc.) From that I got a renewed interest in photography.
But it wasn't until I volunteered for a year to serve as the head of marketing for a musical theater in San Diego that I really started getting re-involved in photography. I would shoot all their productions and that led to other projects (e.g., event and food photography).
My passion now is fine-art photography. I've managed to win a few ribbons in international competitions and sell a few prints as a result.
I do my own printing and, when I have time, framing as well.
In the past few years I've been able to take a few multi-month photography trips – a couple to the east coast and back and another up and down the west coast. My wife and I have been able to enjoy almost 50 national parks/monuments and a lot of great state parks too. Consequently, I now have a few thousand images to dig through, post-process, and print.
