I've followed Al BeFranke for a few years and I'm constantly amazed by a few things: 1.) His use of color rivals that of the greats. That's a strong statement, but I stand by it. I particularly love his images that feature a 3 color palette mixed in with strong contrast. 2.) His subject matter is always interesting. From citizen arrests, to people's shoes, to flea market images and to the random person caught in some random pose. There's always a story present in his images. 3.) And most importantly, you can tell just by studing Al BeFranke's photos that he cares about what he produces. His images deserve your eyes for more than 5 seconds. Study the images, understand the stories and then you'll get a glimpse into the brilliant mind of Al BeFranke.
