I like to call myself an "always student" photographer. I am 100 percent self-taught and zero percent expert. I started out shooting indoor, primarily individual sports, which is where the majority of my photos come from. Because of my full-time position with the University of Denver athletics department, I primarily shoot women's collegiate gymnastics. After budget cuts and limited access protocols due to COVID-19, I became DU's unofficial photographer for all 18 of our sports for the 2020-21 season, giving me the chance to shoot other sports like basketball, hockey, soccer and lacrosse for the first time ever.
Previously, I've held freelance opportunities where I shot professional/elite figure skating shows that were produced for television. I am now teaching myself landscape (and a little bit of cityscape) photography so that my gear isn't sitting around, collecting dust during the offseason. Living in Colorado makes that much easier.
Until I start producing well-composed and decent looking landscape shots, my photostream will rely on my sports shots.
My gear: Nikon Z8, Nikon D750, f/2.8 70-200 & f/2/8 24-70.
