Chromia - "a state of pure colour"

Photography was my first love, though I have always been creative. After years of focusing purely on my photography, I felt unfulfilled in other areas of my life, due to the desire to express myself in ways in which photography wouldn't allow. A photograph can only tell so much of a story.

It wasn't until I was 22 years old that I first began to write poetry. Initially, not through lack of effort but a rudimentary understanding of poetry, my writings were simple and generally kept private. However, as I began to write more, I began to understand more. Eventually, whether subconsciously or not, I drew inspiration from the images I had taken. I began to tell their story.

The Chromia Collection is a series of images of which I am immensely proud of. Each image will eventually have a corresponding poem with which it will be displayed alongside. The idea was borne out of the need to not only express myself through different creative outlets, but to keep encouraging myself to become better, both as a photographer and as a writer.
