I’ve been into photography off and on for at least 15 years now. It’s interesting to ponder how the hobby has changed with digital cameras and then the Internet.

I’ve always been a bit lazy and impatient and not learned the instinctive use of technicalities of f-stops etc or invested in learning how to use an SLR properly. I’ve always been a bit bored with the technologies of photography, and like the art side more.

As I’m a lecturer on Information science, I’ve also got quite interested in the various ways information is part of the hobby and other practices of photography.

I am doing a 365 self portrait project as part of research into "information in everyday practice" creation, searching, use and management of information, implying the production, use/reuse, management and sharing of information within the flow of everyday social practices. See my blog 365 project for more details.
