I got the photography bug through a love of the sea and an enduring interest in the biology and ecology of the plants and animals that live in it. A couple of fun-filled weeks of diving in Papua New Guinea in the early '80s, with an old family friend who had a Nikonos III camera with macro attachments, revealed to me what a good camera can do when guided by knowledge and a passion to share nature's wonders through the amazing medium of the photographic image.
