I remember my first crush, and my first camping trip, and my first car. But most of all, I remember Mama... oops, not Norwegian, sorry. I remember my first camera. Not the one from the family arsenal that I was allowed to use, but the one that was all mine, the result of my studious research as a child. I wanted it even more than a go-kart. It was a fairly serious 35mm rangefinder with a 50mm lens. I wore it everywhere, and shot lots of Tri-X. Now I only wish I had shot even more, because Time like an ever-rolling stream etc. Since then, scores of other cameras, but that first one still seems definitive. If I could just find all those early negatives...
