I am a fire captain on Engine 9 in Charlotte, NC. I will have 25 years career service in June of 2012. I was a member of both a volunteer fire department and a separate rescue squad from 1979 to 1987, when I began my career in the fire service. I was an Explorer from 1979 to 1984.

I graduated from Bowman Senior High School in 1984. My brother and I went to paramedic school together at Montgomery Community College. He is now an Assistant Operations Supervisor with Medic (Charlotte, NC). We get to run incidents together from time to time.

I am married and have one son. My part-time job is fabric protection and specialty cleaning of fine furniture and rugs. My hobbies are spending time with my wife and son. I enjoy welding and fabricating just about anything from metal. I particularly enjoy building toy fire trucks for my son.

My "hometown" is listed as Wadesboro, NC because that is where I was born and grew up. However, Charlotte, NC is now my hometown and where I have spent my entire adult life.
