Born in Pompey in the (very) early 60s and grew up (or got older anyway) in Hants, western Scotland and Cornwall, W Sussex, Somerset and SW London, and now living in NSW, Orstraya. Despite being a swot at school I never quite got around to uni, much less the corporate or government career.

I've ridden motorbikes since I was 17 and still have one in the shed. Drove lorries for over a decade in the UK and for a few years here in Oz. Confess to being absolutely hooked on and fascinated by the hundreds and thousands of individuals and groups posting pics of cars, bikes, buses and lorries form the UK from the 60s, 70s and 80s, especially 70s and 80s bikes, trucks and cars. Buses from the NBC era (Southdown and Western National especially) can take me back decades, especially Bristol RE, VR and LH and Leyland National, cos these are what I remember most, largely because of their distinctive sounds. Some of the stuff here I never even knew of, while much of the rest evoke memories of the 70s and 80s, a time which had its fair share of problems but which - to me and it seems some others - were a lot less "I'm alright Jack" and a lot more easy-going. The knowledge of many who post and comment on photos is astounding and makes the whole thing much more enjoyable and informative than a public gallery might seem.

Main vehicle interests these days are bikes, but being a closet "spotter" and innate "nerd" I love car/ bus/ truck/ bike spotting on here and elsewhere.
