I started doing photography on the 29th April 2008 with a Samsung S1050 point and shoot digital camera.
While using it I found it very enjoyable to '' freeze time '' and capture the moment.
I only got into night photography on the 27th March 2010 and that's when I really got addicted to photography.
This may sound daft or silly, but I sometimes class a camera as a time machine like device, memories only last for so long, and even then they often get hazy and distorted, but a picture will always show the past just the way it was, and that brings me onto another point why I like photography, for history purposes to see how much things has changed and to compare a modern photo to a old photo and see how much has changed in the scene over time.
On the 21st of July 2011 I got my first ever DSLR, it was bought for me as a gift, a Nikon D5000.
If I had a motto I guess it would be '' Passionate about night photography, Passionate about starbursts '' (6 point starbursts that is).
I also absolutely love Hexagonal night bokeh, but like starbursts, it has to have 6 points.
I also seem to have a planted forest obsession, not just any forest will do though, no natural forests, it must be a planted forest, getting deep in the forest and taking pictures is something I love to do, the way planted forests are just so symmetrical is something that amazes me.
I have been using a Pentax K-50 since early 2016 and I absolutely love it, the only real problem is it's maximum RAW bit depth of 12 which is creating banding in most of my pictures especially ones with dark blue sky. Edit 2025: The problem is looking like it's more to do with a slow shutter (shutter lag) not a slow shutter speed setting, also the Pentax K-50 is plagued by hot pixels.
I tend to buy entry level DSLR's as for me, there is only 2 types of DSLR's worth buying, entry level APS-C cameras and full frame cameras, because the cameras in the middle, the mid rage cameras aimed at enthusiasts have the same size sensor, the same image processor and the same mega pixels as the entry level DSLR's but cost more.
For me it's ALL ABOUT THE SENSOR AND IMAGE PROCESSOR, I don't need fancy features or stupid gimmicks, give the the latest Pentax APS-C ( Advanced Photo System - Classic ) sized sensor camera any day.
After looking through my photographs in February 2025 and not been happy with any taken by my Pentax, I decided to go back to Nikon as I could clearly see the Nikon photos were miles better quality than anything else I had, especially Pentax.
On the 22nd of February 2025 I bought a Nikon D5100 in factory condition, my second Nikon, after the one I owned in 2011 (Nikon D5000) and a AF-S 16-85mm 3.5-5.6G ED DX lens in factory condition to go with it.
Then on the 15th of March 2025 I bought a Nikon D3300 in good condition as it has no optical low pass through filter (AA filter) and I wanted to try that out, since digital cameras were a thing they have been fitted with an optical low pass through filter to stop unwanted '' moiré '' in your pictures, as the reviews I had read all said that moiré wasn't seeming to be an issue in pictures after Nikon removed the filter, however after only the 4th picture taken with this camera (the D3300) I accidentally captured Moiré.
On the 18th of March 2025 I bought a Nikon D3200 in good condition, which is nearly the same as the D3300 but HAS a optical low pass through filter and just works every time at stopping unwanted Moiré, the D3200 also has a Nikon sensor and not a Sony one which is quite unusual for Nikon.
Then on the 21st of March 2025 I bought a Nikon D800 in factory condition, my first ever full frame camera, it obviously has a 35mm sensor and 36.2MP.
To go with that I also bought a AF Nikkor 28-105mm 3.5-4.5D legacy FX lens and a AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1.8G Prime FX lens, I am hoping this is all the camera equipment I will need for the next 10 years.

I love long exposures, everything to do with night time, the dark, sunrise and sunset.
I like to take pictures mainly at night , sometimes during the day and in dull and fading light and I will sometimes display the time and date the picture was taken too.
I tend to take pictures of Light trails, Motorway traffic, Street lights, Buildings, Landscapes, Bokeh, Night bokeh and Hexagonal Night Bokeh in England.
All of my pictures are 100% natural and untouched in every way without ever been Photo shopped or altered or messed about with in anyway whatsoever, No multi layered photography, No HDR's and No image manipulation of any kind, all of my pictures look just the way they did when I saw them at the time of taking and I'm VERY PROUD of that.
I don't do any photo processing at all, I don't even own any photo software.
All of my starbursts are all 100% natural without using any filters or anything else, as is all my bokeh, night bokeh and hexagonal night bokeh, its all natural, no funny gimmicks at all.
I don't do anything with my pictures apart from take them and then upload them , 99.99999% of my pictures don't even get cropped , they are all 100% natural and untouched and then uploaded.
