Fellwalker, railway enthusiast & author of twenty-plus books on railways and North East England.

A lot of my early railway photos (1978-1981) were taken at Newcastle Central station with a crappy Kodak Instamatic - I wish I'd had a decent camera! I have also included scans of quite a few of my Dad's B&W photos and colour transparencies from the 1950s and 60s, and an expanding collection of interesting railway images by other photographers. Specific railway interests include English Electric diesels especially the Deltics, WR diesel-hydraulics, LNER steam, railway history (especially NE England) and the Woodhead route.
