DJ EZV Biography:

DJ ezv by dj_ezv

DJ EZV, formerly known as DJ Slim is a DJ from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). DJ EZV got his start as a guest DJ at such clubs as The Roxx nightclub, Club NRG, and Joker nightclub, but before all that there was a long and difficult road to being a recognized DJ.

In 1989, DJ ezv was introduced to the DJ scene when he was asked to make an announcement at the DJ booth. While at the booth he was introduce to the Much Video Dance DJ (MVD /VJ). From then on he was hooked. He saved his money for a few months and with help from his family and hard work he got his first Technics SL-1200 turntables, speakers, small mixer from Radio shack and Radio shack headphones.

With the Southern Ontario music scene saturated with talented artists (DJ's), it was very difficult to break into the scene. In the 90's it was proving difficult to get a local DJ slot. Promoters seemed only interested in established names. Desperate to build his name up and to DJ solo in front of large crowds of people, DJ Slim started putting mix tapes in the local schools and Colleges for free. In time the name DJ Slim steady grew.

After joining the Canadian Armed Forces in 1991, DJ Slim was posted to a base on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, where he met friends who just got hired at a new nightclub. This club had just received a zoning permit to open and the owner needed staff. A DJ position was one of the vacant positions and his friends asked him if I knew anyone that could work at the club as a DJ. Not knowing DJ Slim that well at the time, he informed them that he had a few yrs experience working as a DJ. From that point on DJ Slim got the name DJ ezv. DJ ezv was the primary DJ at Waves night club. DJ ezv's DJ career took off just as CD's became more popular.

After leaving British Columbia, in 1997, DJ ezv moved back to Ontario where he worked at The Brick Warehouse in Burlington in the AV department. While living in Hamilton, he obtained a second job working at a local gentleman's club where he met a DJ from another club. Weeks later they met up at which time DJ ezv met Wayne Williams a DJ at a local club in Hamilton, Ontario. Wayne Williams was a prominent DJ in the Southern Ontario area who helped develop DJ ezv's skills as a DJ.

Special thanks to DJ Danny D of Z103.5 and Wayne Williams program director of FLOW 93.5, for inspiring me to become a DJ and to help develop my DJ style.
