I'm a COO by day of a small software company. My college graduation present from my dad was a new Ricoh XR7. My love of photography began. Unfortunately, work and life took over and I set the camera down for many years. I've started learning all over again. I had purchased a Canon T1i with the kit lenses (18-55 and 55-250 about 18 months ago. I currently using a Canon 5D and Canon 7D with a few lenses including a 24-70MM f2.8L, Tokina 11-16MM, Tamron 18-270MM and a couple of others.

Flickr was a recent find (i found it for a 2nd time in Nov 2009) and I've leaned so much with all of your pictures than just about anywhere else.

Ive always been a fan of Disney and have been fortunate to go numerous times over the years. My 21 year old daughter and I take a 4-5 day trip there every year (my wife lets us go) and we have a blast! My primary goal is to spend time with her, so I don't get to take as many pictures as I might if I was on my own (but I wouldn't trade my time with her for anything).

Why trying_to_shine? It refers to my favorite passage in the Bible - Matthew 5:16, "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
