A resident of paradise (well the Lower South Coast of New South Wales at any rate).

Only got into photography early in 2007 and I'm still very much an amateur, but keen to learn and practice new ideas and skills. Don't have any expensive gear, my first camera was a Canon PowerShot A580 which was unfortunately stolen a little while ago, so I bought a PowerShot A490 as a very cheap replacement. I've since upgraded to yet another PowerShot, this time a G12 and so far I'm extremely pleased with my choice.

Nearly all of my photography is nature based, flora in particular. Most of the images I take are for recording details of flora and fauna for reference and identification purposes as part of my studies, the artistic stuff takes a back seat at the moment.
