I was pretty focussed on my career and family and didn't have much time for hobbies until retiring in 2008. I started taking pictures, went nuts with it for several years, seeing the world in 5x7 rectangles. I took a hiatus to write a novel (we all have one dancing in our heads), and now I'm back to photography. In other words, I'm a hobbyist or rank amateur in all things, but find great joy in the process.
