Used to have a huge job I loved and worked very very hard to get.
, three children, elderly parents living with us on the other side of our house - my husband and I owned a restaurant bar & grill in the University town of Ithaca NY where I also was born and raised, I got my MBA while working first in the corporate world and then back at Cornell - while doing all the above. It was a blastt. I loved every bit of it. But it was a bit too much for my health and I developed fibromyalgia, severe migraines - other stuff I won't go into now ~ I seemingly went from boundless energy to struggling to get out of bed in the mornings ~ and as hard as the years were when I had so much to do when I had a huge job managing lots of money and peoplej along with my own personal life ~ trust me when I say, this has been the hardest part of my life's journey to come to terms with this ..what you see me talk about and portray now is for the most part a reflection of my last 14 years ~ dealing with being in a situation I didn't expect to find myself in ~ at least not yet. I didn't expect to suddenly lose both my parents in their early eighties while I felt they were relatively healthy Now I'm an orphan, my dear parents are both gone - I'm 'early-retired' or technically 'disabled' and I had worked so hard to get to where ao was at Cornell and loved it there that sometimes I would j ust cry.
No longer the Mom of children .. L but rather grown daughters and WOW (a MeMa I'm called poby my) two grandsons so not entirely horrible for sure! And now I have art and photography as my passions and we live in Maryland near our daughter and son-in-law and our new 16 month old grandson. It's a bit warmer here than 'up north'. I love to visit the other two girls - I've claimed all three of their cities as our own Mostly because they live in such wonderful places! Lindsay is here in the metro DC area, Caitlin is in Chicago (love it there!) and Chelsea is in California coaching high school and college lacrosse in the San Diego area So, other than wishing my body was 10 or maybe 29'years younger so I could treat it better, overall things are pretty ok.
