My interest in photography grew out of my bird watching hobby. I was living in Botswana, where birds are abundant and beautiful. The photography gear that I had amassed in those days would serve my needs as a bird watcher, and nothing else (I mean, I had no ambition to become a "photographer"; all I was looking for were birds to be seen and captured through a camera). Later on I moved to Cabo Verde, a very attractive country in its own right, but not so when it comes to birding. Indeed, Cabo Verde is a stunning ten-island archipelago country that offers a wealth of interesting and diversified photographic motives, birds NOT being one of them. That was my clue to broaden the scope of my experience as an amateur photographer. My photographic interests, which used to focus exclusively on birds, have been expanding dramatically to encompass virtually everything, from humans to animals, to landscapes, buildings, clouds, mirrors, details of things - and, of course, birds.
