Drag to set position!
I started quilting 18 years ago while on maternity leave and quit quilting 17,8 years ago, when my maternity leave was over! I soon realised that working fulltime and raising children at the same time meant there was no time left to do anything else. I did manage at the time to make one quilt for my daughter.
Last year, my daughters quilt almost fell apart, and she asked me to make her a new one. And so I started quilting again and soon discovered the enormous change it has been through in the past decades. All those modern quilts feel like an enormous breath of fresh air.
I love all those fantastic new fabrics but they are still hard to find in Belgium, where I live. Quilting isn't very popular here and is considered a pass-time for silly old ladies. But thanks to the internet, there's a ton of inspiration and information available (and shops too...) .
I have been quilting passionately for about a year now, and although I still work full time, my children are grown (20 and 18) , which gives me some much-appreciated free time.
I live in the beautiful town of Leuven, known for its beer -home of Stella Artois-, its Gothic Town Hall and its old university (KULeuven, founded in 1425). I hope I will be able to find the time to post some nice pictures of Leuven too!
