I've been following Jay's work for some time. There are many photographers who put an artistic spin on reality. But there are few photographers whom I would describe as true artists; Jay is one of those. Jay photographs something deeper, with an inner voice and sharp observation that leaves the viewer completely free to respond with the same intuition. For a "real amateur" I think Jay produces superb abstract photography with something very meaningful to say to anyone who is open to listen: sometimes joyful, sometimes troubling, always beautifully thoughtful, enigmatic and inspiring ...
