I am an amatuer photographer and have been working hard for the last 5 years or so on my photography skills in order to be able to produce the quality of images of kingfishers in flight that you will see here on Flickr. I spent many hours over a period of 2 years practising, taking shots of the birds of prey at the Hawk Conservany Trust in Andover during their public flying displays. I then moved on to taking photos of wild birds in flight such as puffins, buzzards etc before concentrating my efforts on kingfishers, for which I have had a lifelong passion. It was still several months before I was sufficiently confident in the standard of my images to display them on this site. I have been very fortunate in being able to access the section of the River Test in Hampshire where all my kingfisher images have been taken.

You may have noticed there is a link from Flickr to my new web site. Several people suggested that my photographs should also be incorporated into a book so I am pleased to say that I have now produced a 40 page book containing a selection of my best photos from the River Test in 2011. The book is a non-profit making publication and is for those people who would like a glossy hardback book containing 38 images of the beautiful kingfishers on this glorious stretch of river.
