My Journey in Photography

Introduction

Photography has been a passion of mine since the late 1970s. Over the years, it has become more than just a hobby—it is a source of continuous learning and enjoyment.

Learning from Others

With the advent of websites like Flickr, I have been able to enjoy the work of other photographers and learn from their unique perspectives and techniques. These online communities have opened up new possibilities for developing my own skills by observing and appreciating a wide variety of photographic styles.

I am fortunate to live on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, an area renowned for its natural beauty. This setting provides an abundance of opportunities for photography, especially as I am drawn to capturing natural scenes. Landscapes, sunsets, and waterfalls are among my favourite subjects to photograph, offering endless inspiration right on my doorstep.

Expanding My Expertise

My aim is to continually broaden my knowledge and expertise in the wonderful world of photography. Each outing is an opportunity to learn something new and refine my craft.

My Equipment

Currently, I use a Nikon camera with a variety of lenses, which allows me to experiment with different techniques and compositions. However, I firmly believe in the saying, “The best camera to have is the one you have with you.” For me, the joy of photography comes from making the most of whatever equipment is at hand and capturing the moments that inspire me.
