My Beautiful Barbotine
Drag to set position!
About 10 years ago I traveled to Hungary, I was doing what all tourists do, which is sight seeing. In one of the museums I saw a beautiful Majolica vase Made at the Zsolnay factory. From this moment the interest sprung which lead to the beginning of my majolica collection. Now I have pieces from all over the Europe (Hungary, Germany, France, and England), as well as a couple of American pieces. It is very hard to say which one is my favorite. They are all beautiful and unique in their own way.
Sometimes, a hobby becomes an obsession, and before you know it you are getting carried away, it is very hard to stop. It is like an addiction, an addiction to beautiful things. I find myself running out of space, and Selling is the hardest part. "Which one?", and I worry if they will go to a good home. Some of the pieces that I have, were abused and rescued, others are flawless.
The majority of my pieces are made in the late 19 century to the beginning of the 20 century. A few of them were made by contemporary artists. Please look around. If you have any questions please ask, I'll be happy to answer.
As with any collector, if you have a unique piece I may be interested in buying it or trades....
