While most kids dreamed of growing up to be astronauts, firefighters, doctors, or, you know, a monkey (seriously, I know a guy), I wanted to be a photographer for National Geographic. I don't quite see that happening, but after finishing grad school and becoming a member of the employed community as a fisheries observer in Alaska, I decided to reward myself with a fancy Digital SLR camera (Canon EOS Rebel T1i) to take up my dream vocation as an avocation. I have since joined Flickr to keep track of my wanderings in the world of photography.
