Having spent most of my childhood dreaming of traveling to far away places I can now look at my life and say, well done Casey. I am by no means even close to being finished but I look at where I have come from and where I have been and I feel an incredible amount of gratitude. Growing up a very shy and introverted kid in Salt Lake City, I was scared of the world and reluctant to try anything. At the age of 10 my mother convinced me to try ballet of all things. How could a timid little boy, in what I thought of at the time as an obscure town in the desert, get up in front of thousands of people and dance? Somehow it happened and it sent me on a collision course with my dreams. At the age of 16 I moved to Washington D.C. to study ballet with a handful of teachers from the famous Vaganova Academy in St Petersburg, Russia. The world suddenly opened up as I began to travel to places that I had dreamt of years before. I moved to New York City for a time and then Seattle. Ballet was taking me around the world and suddenly those far away places weren't just my imagination. In 2008 I moved to Amsterdam where I joined The Dutch National Ballet as a leading dancer and began to experience the world like never before.

As a child I spent countless hours alone drawing pictures of fantastic places and now again the urge to create images has taken hold. On a trip to Venice in 2009 I decided it was time to purchase a camera and I began to learn the art of photography. An overwhelming need to capture the beauty and power of the sights I was witnessing came over me. I want my images to inspire and stir the imagination. I want to give people a taste of what the world has to offer. Photography for me is a means of expressing to people who might otherwise stay at home, what amazing things await them if they dare to step outside their comfort zone and I say, if you dare to dream, then dare to make your dream a reality.
