Creator of Gung Haggis Fat Choy Robbie Burns Chinese New Year Dinner - recognizing the history of British Columbia's pioneer Scots and Chinese, and mixing it up with contemporary cultural and culinary fusion.
I grew up as a child-apprentice to my sign-writer father, learned to play accordion and compete in music festival competitions.
Somehow my interests in Chinese Canadian history have led me down a path to help create:
- 1998 Gung Haggis Fat Choy Robbie Burns Chinese New Year Dinner
- 2002 inaugural committee for Vancouver Public Library's One Book One Vancouver - Wayson Choy's "Jade Peony"
- 2002 Gung Haggis Fat Choy dragon boat team
- 2002 inaugural Asian Canadian Writers' Workshop Community Builder Dinner
- 2003 Vancouver International Taiwanese Dragon Boat Race
- 2004 CBC television performance special Gung Haggis Fat Choy
- 2005 - SFU Gung Haggis Fat Choy Festival
- 2006 - Historic Joy Kogawa House Society
- 2007 CBC documentary Generations: The Chan Legacy
