Who am I? I'm just a Southern gal with a little gypsy music in my soul (and a persistent rumbling in my belly). I've got a Southern dad and a Hungarian mama, so while I was born and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, I spent all my childhood summers visiting family and friends (and eating!) in Budapest, Hungary. These days I live, cook and write in Brooklyn, New York (I'm also the Community Manager at Outside.in).

Y'all Hungary (YallHungary.com) is my way of chronicling a project I've always wanted to embark upon: to cook my way through my family tree, from gulyás to grits. While I'm well versed in the language of biscuits and gravy (and have often succumbed to the siren song of paprikás csirke), I’ve never really learned how to cook these dishes (much to my mama’s chagrin)… until now!
