August 2011: When I joined Flickr in 2010 my main goal was to photograph every bird species that calls Michigan home. I also photographed historic bridges. Since then my perspective has broadened considerably to include many subjects and types of photography. I attribute that to the interesting and often spectacular work of my Flickr contacts. So, I enjoy seeing your work, especially nature subjects, landscapes, architecture, and photos showing life in other parts of the world.
We like to travel often, and I often talk to other photographers I encounter along the way. It would be a great thrill to "bump into" a Flickr contact!

This is the first Testimonial I have written. Amongst all the splendid photos I have seen, Jan's stand out for his intense love of the natural world. Jan has introduced me to many a small wild flower and the huge variety of birds he sees around him in the Michigan area and in other parts of the USA. It has been an eye-opener for me. I love our native English wild flowers, and I was first attracted to Jan's photos by his capturing of the wild flowers around Michigan. A recent beauty is appropriately named "Spring Beauty". Another recent favourite is the "Singing Redstart". What a glorious expression of pure joy, perfectly presented! So thank you Jan. Thank you for sharing so much with us on Flickr.
