Born in Ottawa in 1983, I grew up in the rural village of Dunrobin located a few kilometers northwest of Canada’s capital. Through this exposure to the natural environment I thoroughly explored deep forests, expansive fields, and winding creeks. My appreciation grew for not only nature and wildlife, but the magic and wonder in the world as a whole which permeates my imagery today.

Although having owned a Polaroid camera when I was young, it was employed simply as a family snapshot recorder. My interest in photography grew from storytelling in cinema and the power of the visual image. In high school I became more involved with photography and began exploring it as a means of creating images, rather than taking them.

While I worked at Black’s Photography as a lab technician and sales associate, I enrolled in Algonquin College’s full-time 2 year diploma program which allowed me to merge highly technical skills with artistic excellence. I graduated with honours in 2007 and subsequently was selected by Photolife magazine (Sept. 07 issue) as one of the best emerging photographers in the world.

Although I continued helping the public better understand imaging equipment by working at Henry’s for 5 years as a full-time sales associate and School of Imaging instructor, I am now myself a part-time photography professor at Algonquin College.

Designed to enrich your environment, my signed limited edition artwork is imaged on large specially coated sheets of aluminum whereby the image and colours are infused into the surface of the metal through a heated dye-sublimation process. This creates a luminous and brilliant scratch resistant surface where light shines through the “ink” and reflects off the metal underneath rendering the subject in unparalleled depth and definition.
