Welcome to the wanderings and musings of a citizen of the world and his trusty Kodak. I live and work in the city of Boston, Massachusetts. I've lived in a number of cities over the years but I have always had a deep attraction to things natural, rural, and otherwise off the beaten track.

I don't put myself out there as a professional, an expert, or even a gifted amateur. My page is a place for pure self-expression and artistic catharsis. Think of it as one facet of an all too busy life.

My tastes in photography are eclectic. Some of my passions are more obvious while some are more subtle. Some of my favorite artwork is Chinese or Japanese painting which incorporates calligraphy. In like manner I accompany my images with words. I prefer to use my own words, but I will often cite a book, play, film, poem, or other sources.

As much as humanly possible I avoid cropping or editing my images in any way. My thought is this; editing an image that I felt compelling or inspired to preserve somehow diminishes the intent and the moment in which that choice was made. For myself, I'd rather not second guess my creative process.

A bold image may attract attention. I believe that which is most insightful, alluring, intriguing, and sexy can be found in understatement. My adherence to this principle varies and is in no way absolute.
