I've never written one of these, but feel it's appropriate to do so. Being quite new to photography, the encouragement I receive from Jim has really helped me think about and develop my work. But what has really inspired me is that Jim himself is an awesome photographer! I am inspired by, and learn from his work. I think our styles are very different (being new to this game I am probably still developing mine), but every day I see things of his that make me go "wow". Jim, g'day and thank you!

What I most love about Jim's photography is that he takes you on a journey of self development. The shots that he takes, well, no two are alike! These might be shots of architecture, various flowers, abstracts, portraits, you name it! In part he feels that it is because he has not found a style, yet every photo has his flare and his passion rooted deep within. That is his style! He once told me that he gave photography up about a year ago, and when I first met him he called himself a beginner. Now he says: I'm not a beginner, I just didn't start very long ago! Fact of the matter is, you are so much more, Jim! On numerous occasions I have seen his work and my jaw has dropped wide open. I thought to myself: How does he do it? How divine it is to see the world through his eyes. Jim most certainly is not afraid to pass on constructive criticisms. If you feel that a certain shot is lacking something or simply doesn't feel right, know that you can ask for his advice. Know that he will give you his honest opinion on it. But be sure, he is also very good at taking advice and criticism. It's both a pleasure and delight to see your work grow, Jim. :~)

From the most sublime floral captures you will suddenly be transported through vibrant cityscapes, incredible wildlife macro's and breathtaking black and white landscapes. Jim has an incredible eye for a superb image and it doesn't matter what the subject is. Jim teases the out the finest details, creates the most exquisite compositions, works the colours supremely and more often than not, will spot something that the rest of us simply wouldn't see and turn it into a winning image.
