La passione per il ricamo mi è stata trasmessa dalla mia nonna paterna: la prima volta che le chiesi di insegnarmi ad eseguire le crocette sulla stoffa, avevo circa dieci anni e da allora, non ho mai smesso! Il ricamo è un'arte per molte persone ormai dimenticata, spesso snobbata e ritenuta un lavoro appartenente alle nonne! In effetti, alle nonne si dovrebbe ricollegare, avvicinare le giovani generazioni alla conoscenza di antiche tradizioni, educarle ad apprezzare il valore di cose ormai ritenute antiquate: il passare un pò di tempo insieme, come si faceva una volta soprattutto nei lunghi pomeriggi estivi, chiaccherando, mentre sedute in circolo, ognuna teneva in mano la sua stoffa ed eseguiva il suo lavoro; il realizzare un ricamo unico da regalare a qualcuno a cui si vuole bene, realizzarlo con affetto, con le proprie mani e diverso da tutti i regali che possono essere comprati in serie in un grande magazzino! Senza dimenticare che ogni tanto è davvero molto importante rimanere un pò da soli con sè stessi, rallentare il caos frenetico e lo stress che ci avvolgono quotidianamente! Io sono convinta che prima o poi sempre più persone si accorgeranno di quanto sia importante rallentare la propria corsa nel lavoro e nella ricerca vana di trovare la felicità in cose materiali che poi, inesorabilmente passeranno di moda e ne vorremo altre ancora! Che sia il ricamo, che sia la pittura, che sia la cartapesta, intagliare il legno, creare ceste con la paglia, creare borse con materiali riciclabili.....non importa! Ciò che conta veramente è capire che la felicità la possiamo trovare solo dentro di noi, dedicando un pò di tempo a noi stessi, alla nostra creatività, meditando, magari contemplando un paesaggio, e soprattutto dedicando molto tempo alla relazionalità, a quell'antico passare più tempo insieme, quando molti valori, come amicizia, sincerità, solidarietà, avevano ancora un senso!

In fact, you should reconnect to the grandmothers, the younger generation closer to the knowledge of ancient traditions, educate them to appreciate the value of things now considered outdated: the spend some time together, as it was once primarily on long summer afternoons, chatting while sitting in a circle, each one was holding his stuff and performed his work, the embroidery to make a unique gift to someone who you love, achieve it with affection, with his own hands and different from all the gifts that can be purchased in series in a department store! Not to mention that sometimes it's very important to stay a bit alone with yourself, slow down the frenetic chaos and stress that surrounds us every day! I am convinced that sooner or later more people will realize how important it is to slow down their travel and research work in vain to find happiness in material things, which then inevitably go out of fashion and we want more! What is embroidery, which is painting, which is the paper mache, wood carving, create baskets with straw, bags of recyclable materials to create ..... does not matter! What really matters is to understand that we can only find happiness within ourselves, devoting some time to ourselves, our creativity, meditating, perhaps contemplating a landscape, and above all devoting much time to relationality, go to the ancient more time together, when many values such as friendship, sincerity, solidarity, they still make sense!
