In today’s fast paced life, time isn’t a luxury we have. Gone are the days when people used to pursue their hobbies and indulge in extra curricular activities and sports. Nowadays we give a lot of time to something, which is neither work nor personal. We talk about it, crib about it, but don’t do anything about it ourselves. And that is commuting on the crowded city roads. It’s not just the distance which consumes time; it is the traffic jam which devours time.

Have you ever thought deeply as to why traffic jams take place? That too in cities which are called modern and are supposed to be the best in the country. Where crores of rupees are spent every year for the development of the infrastructure. Still the common man faces the brunt of traffic jams.

There are numerous reasons behind traffic jams including infrastructure, huge number of vehicles, and poor traffic management. But the biggest reason is ‘we, the people’. The people who face the traffic jams are the same as who cause them. If we change our attitude and behavior, drive more ethically, then less number of jams will occur and we will have a lot of time to ourselves.

Just imagine the change in our lives if we have more time. We will be able to do so many things which we have always wanted to. All this by just bringing in a few changes in us and the people around us.

Let each of us take a pledge that we will kill the jam every time we get on the road. To start with, we pledge we will not drive on the wrong side, we will not overtake from the left, and we will not park our vehicles illegally.

Please come forward and share with us what all can you do to make a difference so that we have more time.
